Good Afternoon WATVA Followers,
We wanted to take the time to let you know about an upcoming event. Please see the following information:
Let’s Ride Wisconsin
Are you new to the Sport? Did you just pick up an ATV or UTV and are curious about the rules and trail ethics? Do you ride in the same area because you aren’t comfortable riding by yourself or unsure where you are or aren’t supposed to be? Are you a snowmobiler and just dipped your toes into the summer side of the trails?
We are proud to partner with the Forest County ATV Association to host their very first “Let’s Ride In Wisconsin” event. Let’s Ride in Wisconsin is all about getting new riders involved in the sport in a fun, relaxed atmosphere while learning a little about what it takes to make the trails happen, a few laws and ethics while on the trail, and making some new friends along the way!
May 20, Join the Forest County ATV Association along with some members of the Trail Ambassador program and DNR Safety Instructors on a guided tour through some of our finest trails and routes. It will be a slower paced, family friendly day covering 40 miles of forest road, paved route, and wooded trails. The day will begin at the Wabeno Trailhead, located behind the Town Hall at 4473 N Branch St, Wabeno, WI 54566, at 10:00am. We will have a quick pre-ride Q&A session and Riders Meeting and then the ride begins!
We will be riding through a section of the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest to Burgt’s Last Resort, 7793 Jones Lane, Pickerel, WI 54465 for a delicious lunch, stopping once along the way for a stretch and questions. After lunch we will head back on the trail toward Laona, WI. We will take another break once we reach the Nicolet State Trail before heading back to the Trailhead in Wabeno.
Come and learn more about the sport, our organizations, our beautiful area, some of the basic rules and ethics of trail riding and meet some new friends along the way. We’d love to have you!
Prepare for this ride and EVERY ride:
- Make sure your machine is fueled up before we leave
- State Law states that anyone under the age of 18 is required to have a DOT helmet.
- Be on time and ready to ride!
- Machines must be registered and have license plate
